Can you guess which of the partial book covers to your left was sold to finance my 1992 campaign? Its the red one with the white claw and silhouetted Dinosaurs. I joked that I was attacking the fossils in Washington. I didn't write it for a campaign. I wrote it to teach myself how to write. It was an adventure story for tweens but I thought I could use it to raise money as an independent candidate in the year of Ross Perot. Anything seemed possible.
The book with the tighty whities attacking Duluth's Old Central High School was going to explain how the "Red Plan" attacked our schools like a Hollywood B movie monster. I refunded book sales to a couple hundred buyers when I decided it was too late to harp about a lost cause. The book with me wearing the sombrero was intended to talk about my view of education based on a lifetime following Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education. I attended Topeka public schools. And the book with the smug, peach colored President gloating over refighting the Civil War? That was this year's snow sculpture in my front yard. That's the book I'd like you to order.......or possibly read on this website as I complete chapters over the next four months. Or two if I double down on writing. |
